CD ReviewsOne of today's finest talents!!! Ilker Yucel (oyucel@annapolis.net) | 09/23/1998 (5 out of 5 stars) "Kevin Eubanks is probably best known today as Jay Leno's manager and house band leader on "The Tonight Show". However, this is an underappreciation of his real talent as one of the finest jazz guitarists today. All of his music sparkles with intelligence, emotion, and above all talent. "Essence," "Face to Face," "Moments aren't Moments," and "Wave," while all from the same original album are perhaps the best tracks, but all of his music shines with precision and clarity. A great compilation from a great guitarist." Kevin Eubanks At His Best! Chris Astoyan | Los Angeles | 06/17/2000 (5 out of 5 stars) "This CD is so relaxing! I bought this CD for one reason because Kevin Eubanks works with Jay Leno, On "The Tonight Show". My choice for smooth music is The Best of Kevin Eubanks, so take my advice and buy this beautiful style of music because everyone will enjoy it at any place and anytime! 5 stars all the way!" Exceptional Jazzcat | Genoa, Italy Italy | 12/10/2003 (5 out of 5 stars) "Without a doubt this one was and still is an exceptional release. I own all Kev' cds I was able to find. I own all his Grp albums, the albums from which the music contained here is taken. When I saw this complilation i did buy this one too. I can say that all those original albums are fantastic albums. Some of the best music, some of the most high quality imaginative music ever released by that record company. So this compilation is really a memorable one. The track selection is quite good, the choice has been made very well. The album offers a really gratifying listening experience. Great music, really . The style is a sort of soul Jazz, easy listening but with a particular care in composition and performance. A sort of fusion I might say. Kevin released after this period an unbelievable list of pure jazz artistic albums with the best name in jazz today, Dave Holland, Steve Coleman, Mino Cinelu. This music may be easier to listen to but not less artistic. Kevin outrageous musical talent is here in every note too."
