Synopsis

Album Description
From the Plug Label archives come a hand picked selection of new quality tracks and 12'' vinyl-only tracks never before released on CD. Contributing to this compilation are not only fresh new undiscovered talent, but some of the most well respected artists in the Indy Hip Hop / nu-jazz music scene: Artists such as Ohmega Watts, Kero One, Aloe Blacc, The Sound Providers, DJ Mitsu, Rashaan of Crown City Rockers, and Tableek of Maspyke just to name a few. Two brand new tracks from Ohmega Watts of Ubiquity Records, a never heard before new bossa influenced Hip Hop track from Rashaan Ahmad and Kero One, as well as an unreleased track from Tableek breathe fresh air into this album. Though the majority of Kero Presents: Plug Label is jazzy / soulful based Hip Hop, it also include a few nu-Hip Hop beats as well as up tempo Latin influenced dance floor tracks that have previously only been available on vinyl. Executive produced and overseen by label owner "Kero One", the album strives to be more than just your average compilation. This album strives to provide listeners with quality tracks and a timeless listening experience.

CD Reviews

Highly recommended album especially for longtime hiphop fans

"I've listened to hiphop since the late 80's and i admit i've stopped listening to a lot of hiphop out right now with the exception of artists such as pharoah monch, common, mos def, and SOME commercial stuff here and there. However, this album reminded me of why i loved hiphop. It gave me a nostalgic feeling and every selection had some variation. Songs like "in all the wrong places" immediately drew me in with the jazzy piano loop and good flow. "summer in the city" features a jdilla style beat with an emcee that sounds like one of the ex wu-tang members. Even some of the instrumentals such as "space cadets" and "cruise control" are top notch tracks that are amazingly smooth.

If your thinking about the purchase, don't think twice about this one, just do it. It was worth every penny."
This CD is dope!

"Plug Label definitely kept its momentum from the Windmills album going with this this fresh mix CD - I think it's perfect music to groove to as you're driving around the city, yet smooth enough to play as you're chillin out at the crib. Plug Label has released yet another sureshot. Respect!"
