Album Description

Don't dismiss Kenny Rogers as just the bearded porker that dueted with Dolly Parton on 'Islands In The Sun' and wet grannies' panties with his TV appearances and smooth baritone growl on the country hit 'The Gambler'. Before reaching superstar status in the late 70's, Rogers was a member of the pop-rock hitmakers The First Edition ('Just Dropped In To See What Condition My Condition Was In'), and before that, folkmeisters The New Christy Minstels (which included a pre-Byrds Gene Clark and other pronto-folk/rock notables). And by the way, his brother started the International Artists label which brought the world Roky Erickson and The 13th Floor Elevators, Red Krayola and others.
