"Now don't get scared by the young Kenny Chesney. He may look young, but his songs aren't so immature. He has a few great hits on this CD including the title track, "Me and You". This song is Timeless and is played at weddings all the time. How fitting is the song though... absolutely. And then his fan favorite is found on this album... which is my absolute favorite KC song ever.. "Back Where I Come From" and this is the studio version... which I happen to like more. The song about growing up in the country.. "Some say it's a backwards place, narrow minds on a narrow way.. but i make it a point to say that's where I come from". If you get a chance to see Kenny Live.. this is one of the greatest parts of the show.. he has clips of when he was younger. It is a great show. The rest of the cd has some great songs... pick it up.. I promise you won't be dissapointed."
Good Album

"Kenny Chesney's 1996 album ME AND YOU provides some of his best ballads, and uptempo songs. His voice is distinct, and offers different elements to each song, bringing them to life. While there was nothing truly groundbreaking on this CD, it still has some exciting material worth listening to. The ballad "Me And You" is a touching love song. The ballad "When I Close My Eyes" is one of his most touching ballads, with a good indication of what he has to offer voally. There are quite a few uptempo songs on here as well. "Back Where I Come From" is one of his favorites he has quoted in interviews, a song about remembering where you've come from, and where you're going. He does an excellent cover of the Don Williams hit, "(Turn Out The Lights And) Love Me Tonight". Other highlights include "Aint That Love", "Back In My Arms Again", "Another Friday Night" and "It's Never Easy To Say Goodbye". Overall a consistent album, not his best, but definately worth a listen."

"This is a great CD. "Back Where I Come From", is on of those feel good songs that gives me chill bumps every time I here it. Chesney is a extremely talented artist whose passion is shown in every song. I recommend all his albums."
Good all-round modern country

"Kenny Chesney is one of the more distinctive male country vocalists, country-to-the-core, with his clipped vocal style, allowing him to make each song distinctively his. There is no great groundbreaking material on this CD, but the album is entertaining and five years after its release remains a better purchase than the latest albums from Tim McGraw and even George Strait. Chesney concentrates mainly on upbeat songs on this collection, the best of which are Another Friday Night, Ain't That Love and the radical reworking of the Don Williams hit, (Turn Out The Lights And) Love Me Tonight. Chesney is equally strong on ballads, the material on this album being particularly strong: Me And You is a classic wedding song, When I Close My Eyes showcases Chesney's impressive vocal range, and the heartbreaking It's Never Easy To Say Goodbye closes the album in style. There isn't a weak track on the album - how often can that be said about any mainstream Nashville release?"

"Kenny is such an awesome singer. He is flawless whether it be an uptempo song or ballad he can deliver the goods. I really enjoy his uptempo tunes especially "ain't that love" it's such a feel good track with fun inspiring lyrics. This song alone would've been the price for this cd. There are many great tracks in here including "Back in my arms again", "Back where I come from", "Me & you", and many others. You need to own all of Kenny's CD's in order to have a perfect country collection. Kenny, you are the best! man!"
