CD ReviewsIshii on a roll... Justin H. Roby | Washington, DC USA | 03/05/2000 (5 out of 5 stars) "Ken Ishii is one of the premier practitioners of Japanese techno, and this album continues the tradition begun with "innerelements" and "Jelly Tones." Now, if only someone could license "Metal Blue America" for domestic distribution. Collaborating with the likes of DJ Spooky and Sublim labelmates Co-Fusion does not dilute Ishii's inherent genius. In fact, all of these tracks shine in one way or another, even if they don't all have hammering 4/4 beats like EXTRA. Highly recommended." Different, but the same David Collin | Marche-en-Famenne, Belgium | 06/17/2000 (5 out of 5 stars) "For those of you who know Ken Ishii yet, this album is quite different to Jelly Tones, and even more different to Innerelements. However, even if Ken's style evolved alot, one with good ears can hear it IS him, his music. Some slow tracks, some fast and loud ones, this is a good combination of different styles but gathered in one main style: the Ishii style." Very creative. William F. Soule | Clearfield, UT USA | 02/01/2004 (4 out of 5 stars) "Ken Ishii does a very good job being creative in the Rhythm department. He does a great job with the drums and percussions. But some of the songs are so wild, it is a little difficult to really like, although they are still good songs.I like how Ken Ishii changes his style, especially when he does Trance-like songs like the second track on this album. Ken Ishii is also very original and upbeat with his songs. I like how he throws in a little bit of humor in the music with his quirkiness (check out Flatspin, for instance).Very good album. Ken Ishii knows how to make himself sound very distinct from the rest."
