"Whoa! Brasil has their own Britney? Not really. Kelly Key is not quite Britney, not almost Britney; but an entirely better version of Britney. Perhaps it has something to do with hearing her sing in that great Brasilian accent that convinced me to cast a vote for Kelly. Or maybe, it has to do with being a teenage boy with little control over his emotional urges when it comes to sexy female brasilian pop singers ;-)
Kelly de Almeida Alfonso was born on March 3, 1983, in Rio de Janeiro, and is of Portuguese descent. Kelly eventually chose the surname "Key" as it represented the "Key to Success." It seems to me that Kelly Key knows what her strengths are and is not afraid of exploiting them to the fullest.
While Kelly Key may be a South American sensation with hits such as "Escondido" ("Hidden") and "Baba" ("Drool"), many of us are missing out (mainly because she has yet to release an album in English). With foreign imports like Shakira and Paulina Rubio making waves, now is as good a time as any for her to jump on the bandwagon.
OK, after all that I'm sure people would like to know if she can sing. The answer is yes. Mixed with a bit of luck (Dalmo Belloti, who at the time was a manager at Sony Music and a friend of the family was impressed by Kelly and took her under his wing) and talent (her voice mixed with the production of Brazilian DJ Cuca known for his Midas touch in the R&B and pop genres) Kelly's first CD is a catchy and impressive mix of dance, R&B and ballads which make for a great CD.
As a testament to this fact, I did not skip one song whilst listening to the CD as all the songs brought something different to the table. From the whole CD, if I had to a pick a favourite song, Anjo, Baba & Cachorrinho are the three songs that stand out for me with Só quero ficar close behind.
Kelly's best bet would be to release an English album while she's still hot. As evidenced over the years, second-language success is definitely possible."
So good cd!!

"Kelly Key is a fantastic singer!!! I'm american, but i know speak portuguese.
Great debut!

"My favorite bands are Radiohead, Smiths, Pulp, etc. So I was one of the last people in the world who would buy a Kelly Key album, but I can't stop listening to it. Let's face the facts:1- Escondido - A great song and a potential worldwide hit.(10/10)2- Só quero ficar - This is gorgeus, not repetitive at all.(8.5/10)3- Bolada - Good, especially the groove.(8/10)4- Anjo - Although reaching the number 1 spot in Brazil, this is a nice, but not excellent ballad. (7.5/10)5- Baba - The song that started it all. (9.5/10)6- Brincar de amor - Very catchy and sensitive. (8.5/10)7- Tudo com você - One of her best songs! Well-crafted vocals and a somewhat unconventional (but lovely) keyboards' lines.(10/10)8 - Quem é você - A beautiful ballad, better than "Anjo". (8.5/10)9- Viajar no groove - The title says it all... A dancefloor killer! (9/10)10- Cachorrinho - A huge hit. Kelly at her best. Classic. (10/10)11- Escondido (remix)- Radio edit. Shorter and more conventional than the original. (9.5/10) Considering that she recorded this album when she was 17, there's a great expectation for her next effort and it's very unlikely that she will disappoint any of her fans. I'm waiting...P.S. - If you're into brazilian music, you need to hear a young band called "Los Hermanos", they're fantastic!"
