Album Description2008 release, the first new Chess Records release for over 30 years! In 1979, Keith LeBlanc (drums), Doug Wimbush (bass) and Skip `Little Axe' McDonald (guitar) began working as the house band for Sugarhill Records. As the `Sugarhill Ryhthm Section' they recorded with legendary rap artists Grandmaster Flash as well as Treacherous Three and many others. They moved onto Dub/Funk and industrial projects with Adrian Sherwood, Tackhead and Little Axe. The idea for this album started when Keith ran into Marshall Chess of the Chess Records family and together they created the idea to go deep into the Chess catalogue and take the songs they liked, the ones that hit them the hardest and create a new sound with the original masters. What they created are legendary Chess recordings for a new generation. 12 tracks including cuts from Howlin' Wolf, Muddy Waters, Etta James, Little Walter and others. Universal.
