CD ReviewsThe best greek pop record of the last few years giovanni | Greece | 01/23/2002 (4 out of 5 stars) "Greek pop music is an enigma for most of the people in this land. Few young singers have yet managed both to write quality stuff and gain publicity and an audience to buy their records. There's seems to be some kind of artistic ghetto around here . It's like only old cult-status names like Mahairitsas , Papakonstantinou and Pyx Lax are worth selling albums and nobody else . Things have slowly started to change with the success of Oniropagida , Ble , Manolis Famelos and Iro . Katerina's debut was surely one of the most sensational greek pop recordings of the 90's . Gifted with a beautiful , sweet voice , she quickly became known for radio hit singles like " Stin Piso Tzepi Tu Blue Jean " and " I Paramithenia " . When you listen to those tracks it's easy to understand why . The nostalgic character of the romantic melodies and the tender youthful feeling of Kirmizi's voice immediately have a positive affect on the listener's mood . Her lyrics talk about emotional problems most but with a poetic , mature way which convinces you they are heartfelt . After all she was only a teenager when " Concerto... " was realeased . It's naturall to expect her to be that way . If i had to chose a highlight that would surely have to be " I Paramithenia " , a song about not understanding your other-half in a relationship . " ...Steady , you play your part and your look...an innocent stab " she says . In a few weeks from now a new album will be realeased and so we will have the chance to see if Katerina's talent will once again astonish us all."
