Better songsmith than singer

"Producer/songwriter Kashif returns with his first album in 10 years. Released only in the UK, it features American musicians Dwayne Wiggins (of Tony Toni Tone) and Gary Taylor (featured on the midtempo ballad "Rhythm of My Mind"). Kashif was always a better songsmith than singer, and that holds true here, though the five tunes featuring his vocals are the album's best songs. Two versions of "Bed You Down" (one renamed "Lay You Down") and an extended mix of "It's Alright" disguised as another song definitely qualify as filler, but don't let them persuade you that more is less. "Who Loves You" is good work, especially if you're a fan of '80s black pop."
Excellent! but not long enough.
