Lyle is music to Timothy (Billboard) White's ears, and his laudatory columns in recent years have done wonders in jumpstarting the careers of female artists in particular (homegirls Alanis Morissette, Jann Arden, and Sarah... more » McLachlan included). This Hugh Padgham-produced debut paints the trumpet-playing Lyle as a jazz-inspired pop act who can swing like Lyle Lovett ("Mr. Trouble"), turn little-girl vulnerable ("Hocus Pocus"), and stretch out like Rickie Lee Jones ("Midnight Club"). --Jeff Bateman« less

"I heard Kami Lyle one night while traveling between citties listening to a PBS radio station. I pulled my truck over to the side of the road in order not to lose the station. I needed to know who this wonderful vocalist was who could sing like a horn player such poetry with music that touches my heart. I regret that there is only one album to feast my ears!"
Don't overlook this album - you might regret it...

"I saw Kami live in San Francisco and was in love with her unique style on the spot. Only beeing the opening act - she was the only artist that reached my heart. I hope her great talent will draw even more attention in the future and that there will be much more to come."
Spellbinding!

"Is the only word I can think of to describe Kami Lyle. The way she weaves her trumpet, piano, and unique voice around each song keeps the listener on his/her toes, and always wanting more. She should be a superstar before it is all said and done."
Reminiscent of Riki Lee Jones...with a trumpet!!

"My date and I had the good fortune of seeing Kami Lyle perform live at the Park West in Chicago as an opening act. Let me tell you, from the first notes on her trumpet, she held the audience spellbound. She came across as genuine, warm and above all, very talented. We were so pleased, we bought her CD on the spot!"

"We were lucky enough to hear Kami play live at the Bluebird, and bought her CD the very next day. Our Nashville trip took us 15 hours of driving time, Kami's CD played on the road with us quite a few of those hours. Her voice is one you can't wait to hear sing the next song because it takes you on every song's journey. I was only disappointed with one thing on this album and it was not Kami by any means. As far as production goes, the record company could have spent a little more to put in some serious accompaniment. She does not need it for her playing or her voice, but go hear her live and then buy the CD, you'll love her live sound just a tad bit more."
