"Sometimes I believe that Russian music should only be performed by Russian orchestras. This disc supports that premise. This is without doubt the finest rendition of these two Kalinnikov works I have heard. Especially notable to me is the ending of the second symphony where strings and horns meet to form a melodic nector that would entice even the most tone deaf listener. If you have good quality stereo equipment be ready to return again and again to this disc because I guarantee you will become a "Kalinnikov junkie." My only lament after hearing this disc is why did such genius die so young. At the time of this review, the disc is not available. I hope that situation changes quickly."
