Recorded at Hayden Christensen's deserted Laurel Canyon mansion, written while k-os was falling in love; BLack on BLonde is comprised of two essential records: an album of rock tracks on which k-os sings and plays drums, guitar and bass, and an album of hip hop jams. Featured guests on the album include Black Thought of The Roots, Sam Roberts, Travie McCoy, Emily Haines, and Cory Hart.
