Junket's songs may not aim to impress, but their intoxicating guitar web impresses anyway. These 49 minutes of non-rockist rock bliss incorporate mid-tempo, Dream Syndicate-esque statements of understated tension, ridiculously catchy full-steam pop songs and melodic weldings of beauty and dread all too rare in indie rock -- or any music, for that matter. Straightforward, two guitar rock rarely sounds fresh to these ears, but the charm of these songs has yet to wear off. Beautiful cover art from Reneet Tulsi and Karlin Olson wraps the whole thing up.
