CD ReviewsThis album is full of conscious tunes. You will like it. S. D. Mukangara | San Leandro, CA USA | 02/18/2003 (5 out of 5 stars) "Junior Kelly is great. I did not know a lot about him, but the popularity of Love So Nice just blew me away. I am so glad I bought this CD and every tune is a blast. Songs like Hungry Days, Faith, Boom Draw, Black Woman, Standing Firm and Clean Heart are my favorites. I will recommend this CD to those interested in conscious reggae music." Style So Nice jahsh_concurz | Newark, NJ & CT | 08/20/2003 (5 out of 5 stars) "If you are a fan of Rasta reggae music and like that Dancehall flavor and intensity I highly recommend this album. Though its a tough decision, I'd have to say Junior Kelly is my favorite of the Rasta deejay/singjay artists. He arrived later in the scene, after his fellow Bobo Shanti artists Capleton and Sizzla had already gained massive audiences. Now I will tell you what is great about Junior Kelly. He has a powerful and distinct voice, with a great style... he will bring conciousness without being too preachy, he will bring the voice of justice without "bunin' fiyah" on everyting. Don't get me wrong I am a fan of Capleton and dem, but I really respect Junior Kelly who can bring forth these vibrations without becoming so angry or submitting to slackness. So he is a more mild mannered Bobo Rasta like Anthony B and has the wide range of skill and appeal like Buju Banton. This particular album is his best to date, the entire thing can be listened to straigh through. There is not a bad track on here at all. Personal highlights are Clean Heart, Faith, Juvenile, Jah No Dead, Black Woman and Paradise (paradise is a state of mind). Singles that came from this album are the excellent Love So Nice, speaking of Junior's hurt, and intense Boom Draw which is well about puttin' something in the air, feel me? Another good song about love and heartache is Sunshine, Well Runs Dry is a nice smooth acoustic song. I could describe and praise every song, but the best thing to do is just listen to it. Do not pass this album up, I guarantee you will enjoy it, it is diverse enough in its material to appeal to a whole set of people, while sounding like it all belongs together. Even fans of other types of music have told me how they enjoyed Junior Kelly's album here. Get it! If you do not speak or overstand heavy Patois (Jamaican dialect) that well it may be hard to figure out Kelly at first, but you will get used to it, and besides the riddims are blazin'. JAH Love & Respect..." Dissapointing but worth it all the same Kader A. Shoman | Tampa, Fl | 04/11/2001 (3 out of 5 stars) "I must say I am dissapointed with VP Records and JR Kelly. Thought I was going to be getting something fresh here. A bunch of old tunes. I guess this one was being sold on the popularity of "Love so nice". Still a couple of Boom tunes there with Kelly switchin' it up a bit with a nice acoustic effort, the Brian & Tony Gold track WILL grow on you and a couple of the bonus tracks no mek it. AS usual, worth the money same way. Sunshine/Hungry Days are my fav tracks. Best thing is that it is a cd full of positive energy and upliftment. Definatley holds it's own in the collection. Blessed Love"
