This was my first rendez-vous with Julien.

"If you are not familiar with Julien Clerc, this album serves as an introduction to his music. It is meant to inspire you to go out and bring home some more Julien, and I'll have to say that it does a very good job at that indeed. Included here are all of the greatest songs from his career.

When Julien sings, one cannot ignore what is being said. His music is filled with such deep passion. He has this keen and insightful way of respecting, understanding, and portraying women as total goddesses. Listen to "Fais Moi Une Place" or "Femmes, Je Vous Aime", and tell me that this man is not a romantic!

Even though Julien Clerc has been around for well over 30 years, his music (as well as his looks) still remains TIMELESS. 'A Rendez-vous...' does not try to sound like anything but classic French music. Songs such as "Ce N'est Rien", "Utile", "Ma Preference", "Le Coeur Volcan", or "La Belle est Arrive" all have such a romantic old-world French feel to it. Upon listening, you will automatically be whisked away to that small Provencial town situated in the depths of the French countryside. If this CD does not inspire you to drop everything, and run immediately to the airport for the next flight out to France, I doubt anything ever will!"
