"In what I believe is Julie's first full length french album, with the exception of one song, she slightly journeys away from her consistent sappy girl, vulnerability stricken singer/songwriter routine. The most notable aspect is her voice has become much deeper and more mature. It is a wonderful album, and even if you do not understand french, it is worth listening to these beautiful songs."
Nostalgic Melodies and French Lullabies

"This is the first Julie Doiron (formerly of Canadian indie supergroup Eric's Trip) CD I bought, and it immediately has become a regular on my comfort CD list. Delicate, sparse melodies work with occasional backbeat drums and innocent guitar. Though I don't speak French, and though most of these songs are in French, this has not taken away my enjoyment at all. Some songs are lullabies, and I find myself singing them to my son as he goes to sleep. Some songs are resigned gifts of acceptance for past failures in love. All make me think of winter, driving around my old hometown, and a joy-filled sadness at the reality of life's loves and losses."
An excellent album

"an album in french, with one song in english which is, in my opinion, the best on the album; but the entire album from beginning to end is simple and quiet and perfect."

"it's hard to find an artist that can create an album with a reoccuring sound and still give each track the individual attention it deserves. like taking a drive through a foggy countryside without ever leaving your house this release holds you close with it's lyrical content and at times toys with your head with it's flashes of electronica and beautifully minimal production work. an essential addition to anyones folk artists/singer songwriters collection and definitely a classic album slept on by the masses that will be talked about by those who know for years to come.i honestly can't say enough about this album....."
