Amazon.comThis CD is for those who like their kids' music wild and wacky. Beanstock is a theatrical musical adaptation of the classic children's story "Jack and the Beanstalk" and another in the series Once Upon a Time. Jack's adventure begins when he climbs a gigantic beanstalk, meets a jazz-loving giant, and eventually restores his family's fortune. Pop singer Jann Arden makes a comical guest appearance as the character Georgina Wizard who starts Jack off on the wrong path by trading him some magic (singing) beans for his cow Creamy. The style is more rooted in burlesque or the Broadway musical than the peace-and-love setting of the 1969 music festival Woodstock it chooses to parody. Many of the references and jokes may fly right over the heads of most kids. Nevertheless, imaginations will get a good workout as long as the kids can keep up with all the twists and turns along the way. The CD-ROM section includes fun activities such as coloring, puzzles, a music video, and more. (Ages 3 to 10). --Martha Johnson
