CD Reviews

A definite must

"I bought this CD and was totally blown away by her voice. It is just Judi and a piano and it is a superb sound. It conveys all the magic of a live caberet performance (it is worth seeing her perform live too). Buy it and you won't be sorry!"

"An extraordinary talent. The rest of the world has to catch up to Australia and discover this wonderful sound for themselves."
Peter Shelley is so wrong!

"Peter Shelley is so wrong!

Whether you have heard Judi live or not (and I have many times, ... and she sat on my knee in one of the concerts!) this is the best cd from this wonderful cabaret singer.

The voice is so intimate against only a piano and the cabaret and show songs are sung perfectly by a classically trained voice, but without the awkwardness of classical singers performing more popular music.

With only a few songs, Judi sweeps the likes of Barbra Streisand and Elaine Paige into the dustbin. No-one sings "With one look" so well.

Judi should have sung Gypsy and Sunset Boulevard on Broadway but her career there was in cabaret where she was regarded as one of the greats. Many Australians have also attended all of her concerts as they are unmissable.

She was wonderful in Sweeney Todd for the Australian Opera and Into the woods for the Sydney Theatre Company, but unfortunately the music was too easy for her.

Don't listen to Peter Shelley. Buy the cd and you will play it often."
