"Let's get things nice and sparkling clear: you DO NOT chop up the first two Judas Priest albums-- one of them, _Sad Wings of Destiny_, among the five or ten most searing, perfect, influential metal recordings of all time-- and combine it with an interview with an ex-band member, then proceed to serve this up to fans as "The Best of Judas Priest." Shame on Koch International for this lame brew. No disrespect to former Priest skinsman John Hinch, either. The interview with him is interesting and provides valuable first-person perspective on the creation of a rock legend. However, marketing this 20 minutes with halves of two LP's that are genius in and of themselves is poor judgement to say the least. If you really want a "best of"-- as if a band the stature and quality of Priest really needs one-- go with the band-sanctioned compilation _Metal Works 73-93_, which even has liner notes by the five people actually *in* the band. As for this cheap play at cash-grabbing, do yourself a favor and skip it completely."
Horrbile

"I never thought i would find myself writing a bad Judas Priest cd review but here we go: First off this "BEst Of"has some great songs but it's a very obvious rip of trying to make money of the priest name, Judas Priest themselves even say this is not one of their albums only a cheep knockoff that they cannot control, what a horrible misleading album to have such great songs or such a great band assioated with, i agree With Priest leave this alone."
Awesome

"What's with the poor reviews?
Get rid of the interviews and this is a great album. However, some might be interested in those...
These tracks are easily some of the best that Judas Priest ever did. This is good raw rock and roll at it's best. LOVE IT.

"...on heavy vinyl. I should know; I've owned my copy since about 1979. This isn't a cheap or recent one-off to make a quick buck. Heck, it probably WAS the "best of" in about 1976!
This record was of unusual sound quality for 1970's vinyl. It was louder and clearer than any other vinyl album I ever had. No hisses, no pops, outstanding.
Songs #5 through #8 are subtley unique versions that cannot be found elsewhere. This version of "The Ripper" truly rips.
Keep in mind I have not heard the CD edition of "Best of JP," but if the sound quality is as good as the vinyl, then this is a "must have" for all hardcore Priest fans. I recommend buying it for "the Ripper" alone."
