CD ReviewsA wonderful record... Matthew | California | 07/17/2004 (5 out of 5 stars) "I purchased this record in my quest for most everything Peter Gabriel (he's here on I'm Still Looking For A Home). As expected, the entire album stands out with spectacular songs from start to finish. Beautiful vocals & fantastic writing. I don't often write reviews or rush to write them after a first listen, but I am doing so now. Thank you, Joy !!!!" A GEM........... J. Bilby | Kingston, New Hampshire United States | 10/12/2002 (5 out of 5 stars) "I somehow missed this one, wouldn't have happened had
Amazon.com been with us then.(96') I bought this resently while checking out music and her name was mentioned along side Peter Gabriel and I bought this cheap, its a hard find item it seems. I looked it up on Amazon.com found it and I've been playing her all week. She is a very talented singer/musician. I'm getting into her style which is her own but full of excellent influences such as Gabriel, vocals remind of the likes of Kate Bush, Jane Sibery, Mitchell, Lennox. I hate comparisons in general but with a talent like this ladies, you got to start somewhere. I'm sure glad I bumped into this, its edgey, atmospheric, ethereal at times and interesting, YOU CAN play this through beginning to end, its that good. I have lots of developing favorites on this, The Ring, Corrinne,(sounds like one of Rosies' new songs???that just came out this year?)but I give it 5 stars because when a piece of music effects me this fast, I know like so many of my favorite Joni Mitchell collections, this one too will be played for years to come, a saddness weaves through many of these compositions, its a perfect time of the year to sit back, think and watch the leaves fall to earth and enjoy this new find." |
