"Mess" could be the most haunting ballad Path's written since "Portland". And the balls-to-the-wall "Kris Mussday" could give Outkast's "Hey Ya" a run for its money. But though every song on the CD has its own distinct characteristics, The Sugar Fields is best when listened to all at once. Each song flows into the next like scenes in a movie. (Think Radiohead's OK Computer on Prozac.) Although Joshua wrote some 40-50 songs for this CD, the chosen songs sound as though they were born to be together.
