"Someone recently gave me a video tape that has Jose Manuel singing live on it...it's fabulous ! A terrific performer, somehow his talent doesn't fully translate on to a recording. Nevertheless, there is much beauty in his voice, and other than "Una Eternidad" and "Está de Moda", which he penned himself, he has his father's songs as a bonus, his father being one of my favorite singer/songwriters, Joan Sebastian. Joan also produced, arranged, and plays acoustic guitar on this CD. "El Errante" is a gorgeous song, and another favorite is "La Botellita de Tequila". His voice has a gentle, lovely quality to it, and he's at his best in the more rhythmic melodies. The enclosed booklet doesn't have lyrics, but has 4 photos of this attractive artist, and a humorous touch to the "acknowledgements". As with his '99 release, "Mala Hierba", there are a couple of baladas that aren't as solid as the rest of the CD, but I'm giving it 5 stars anyway, because I like this guy ! I only wish this CD was on a live performance video."
