A peaceful breather

"Following in the tracks of her previous effort, 16mm, Jorane plays out the downtempo route to it's most charming level. Although the wild and energic orchestral introduction to Cucaracha makes for a remarquably dramatic begining, the rest of the song (and the EP) turns this around and brings Jorane's voice and cello to the closest skin of your eardrums, caressing with gentle soundscapes. Jorane also writes words again (mostly in french), whereas 16mm was completely instrumental, and even though she hasn't really shown much progress in that department since the youthful Vent fou, her lyrics fit the intimate music perfectly. The most innovative track here is the title one, Évapore, with it's dark, brooding electronic ambiance. Pour ton sourire, a Daniel Lanois track (on which he also participates), brings some welcome rythms which are otherwise lacking in this tranquil and elegant affair."

"Her voice sounds terrific and heavenly! I love the mellow the tone to the songs, especially in Help and Cornelia. Plus the soft yet amazing instrumentals make for a delightful listening experience. This is a terrific album and I would recommend it to anyone who listens to music. Having an open mind when it comes to music would help you enjoy this album even further. This is certainly not your main-stream type of music - it's a refreshing break from it. Great job on this one, Jorane!"
