Thoughtful, sensitive, energetic, and well-played, King and veteran bandmates Steve Wilson(s/a sax), David Sanchez(t sax), Billy Drummond(drums), Larry Grenadier(bass), and Milton Cardoza(perc.) take you on a bebop, Latin, and impressionist jazz journey. Many other albums that have attempted to combine such a diverse palette of jazz have failed for lack of focus. However, "The Meltdown" provides a tasty blueprint as to this can be successfully accomplished. The musicianship is key - and enjoyment without too much mental exertion is the reward! If you see this, snap it up, as it is a rather rare offering."
