Decent "missing link" band with a few great songs

"This is a well-done retrospective of a forgotten L.A. band occupying roughly the same historical space as Hanoi Rocks; that is, post-New York Dolls/Heartbreakers glam rock and pre-Poison/G&R glam "metal." The Joneses' sound is very close to the Heartbreakers', right down to the flat, nasal vocals and the double-cutaway Les Paul Junior. This disc starts off strong and soon goes downhill (viz. the plodding, non-country Hank Williams cover), but if you're a Heartbreakers fan it's worth picking up for "Pillbox," "Fix Me," and "Graveyard Rock."..."
