"I was amazed to find this CD on amazon without a picture of the album and not a single review on this fantasticly infectious artist. Then I remembered that I'd never heard of Jonathan Tyler and the Northern Lights either. My friend turned me on to this by chance. And it's one of the best things that has ever happened to me, musically. The first two songs are worth the price of the CD alone and what makes Jonathan Tyler stand out as an unknown powerful force in the music universe. The rest of the album makes me think of Gavin Degraw except this is more of a blues/jazz made into upbeat pop where Degraw is more soul/gospel made into upbeat pop. If you don't like Gavin Degraw, don't worry about it; they don't sound the same. But they share a similar energy.

Bottom line: do yourself a favor and buy this album (or the first two songs off itunes [amazon is better but they don't have this album in their mp3 library]). I seriously doubt you'll regret it.

Update: Going back over this old review of mine made me realize that I was a little too excited about finding a fun/decent new artist. While I would no longer say that this is one of the best albums to come into my life, it's still worth a listen. I also now feel that the best songs on the album are 1, 4, 6."
