Born and raised in Cape Town, South Africa, Soul/R&B performer Jonathan Butler signed to Jive Records in 1977 and later relocated to the UK, enjoying a high profile and several hit singles and albums across the 1980s. This deluxe set includes the singer's self-titled second LP for Jive. First issued back in 1987, the double-album peaked at #12 on the UK charts. This success fuelled the Top 20 success of the single 'Lies', a song later nominated for a Grammy. Jonathan Butler has been out-of-print on CD for several years. It's now not only been remastered but expanded with a bonus disc containing rare non-album songs and versions.
