Excellent listening! Jon Foreman's style is so easy, so flowing. I can put this one on and listen for hours.

A decent 'summary' of Foreman's EPs

"For people who prefer Cliff's Notes or even watching the movie version rather than reading classic literature, this album will suffice. However, rather than getting just a summary of Jon Foreman's 4 outstanding EPs (Fall, Winter, Spring, Summer), I recommend that you go out and buy the actual EPs that these songs are from. Then, download the two bonus tracks for a buck apiece.
This album has a couple of songs from each of the first 3 EPs, and 4 from the final one (Summer). There are so many great songs NOT on this album, that I suppose this works as a way to entice people to buy the actual EPs. I do enjoy the two new songs (Broken from the Start and Over the River), though I would not place them among the 12 best songs that he has released over the course of the past year or so.
If you only have enough money for one album this year, this is the one you should spend it on. But if you can afford more than this, definitely purchase all 4 EPs. They are filled with creative, acoustic, multi-instrument, simple-yet-elegant songs, which are sung passionately and will definitely leave you with food for thought. Jon Foreman, the lead vocalist of Switchfoot, has definitely shown the world that he's got a real gift for writing and performing music to inspire a generation!"
Soothing voice to calm your nerves.

"Jon Foreman's songs have so much soul and integrity. They are simple yet convey a very deep passion about music that is hard to come by nowadays. This is basically a selection from his 4 EPs plus 2 new songs. If you like this CD, you should definitely check out Fall/Winter & Spring/Summer (If you haven't done so already). He'll take you on a whirlwind of emotions from different seasons through his music.

Pass the good stuff

"This album compiles a year's worth of thoughtful songwriting and is more than worth a listen. It's pretty clear that Foreman is experimenting with different sounds (southwestern guitars, a dulcimer, background choruses, and ambient saxophones and French horns) but he that he aims at expression, not experimentation. I couldn't be more pleased with this album - an original sound with lyrical depth and melodies worth hearing twice that isn't out to impress."
The culmination of the four EPs plus two amazing new songs

"Limbs and Branches is Jon Foreman's first full-length solo album, I guess you could say. Over the past year, he has released four EPs (one for each season), three of which I have listened to. His songs are beautiful and about as passionate as you'll ever hear in music. Limbs and Branches pretty much contains all the best of those four beautiful EPs and adds two new breathtaking songs. 'Broken From the Start' is simply stunning, and the opening gave me the strangest feeling listening it to the first time (in the dark, as a matter of fact). 'Over the River' is a song that has very good lyrics, he seems to be talking about how he has his hope placed in eternity in heaven, and how death has no hold on him. "Death, where is your sting? Your signet ring? Where is your power?" Beautiful lines.
In case you haven't caught on already, these songs are simply beautiful. I recommend you at least listen to them, and if you have the four EPs already then you absolutely must get the two new songs, because they are worth adding to anyone's music library."
