Excellent Native American Flute Compositions

"If you enjoy Native American music, you should purchase this new album, which was the 2008 Grammy Award Winner for Best Native American Music Album. The CD consists of twelve original compositions, each devoted to a different totem animal that also serves as inspiration for the music. The compositions are unique and well-crafted, using Native American flutes, drums, and other instruments. The performances interpret animal spirits that have the power to transform human lives, and are atmospheric and invoke a sense of mystery. Although modern compositions, the pieces sound ancient and authentic, since they make use of a limited array of Native American flutes, percussion, and limited vocals. Only a keyboard and guitar are modern, and they are used primarily for background and rhythm and do not dominate. You will enjoy listening to this album which I highly recommend."
