"After a number of Christian-based releases, John Tesh returns to a more mainstream format. Incorporating World, Classical, and Modern rhythms into his signature piano sound, Tesh has created an enjoyable piece of contemporary music that will appeal to a wide range of listeners for all occasions.
Tesh has been in the celebrity spotlight for a number of years as host of Entertainment Tonight, composer of the NBA on NBC theme music, or platinum plus selling artist. He continues to tweak the public interest as the host of his daily syndicated radio show, in public appearances and as a frequent guest on the talk show circuit.
Alive: Music and Dance is a refreshingly clean listen in a cluttered world, with a message of hope and understanding for a sometimes intolerent world."

"Alive: Music & DanceAlive: Music & Dance
We obtained both the Cd and DVD of this innovative production. To give him credit, John Tesh certainly charts his own course and is not afraid to launch out into fresh waters. Here he takes the listener into the world of dance, embracing both ballet and hip-hop. The trouble with the CD is that is suffers from not having the visual element. While the music is pleasant enough, many of the tracks are recycled songs given new titles and unfortunately not always an improvement on the originals. "Garden City" particularly sounds a little ropey with missed notes and a choppy performance that is a lot less convincing than the original title track from the 80's. The original pieces are fairly standard soundtrack fare. "Drumline" is effective as is "Showdown" while "Shackles" by Mary Mary is a worthy version. All in all this is a CD better bought as a reminder of the Video not as a stand-alone Tesh release. While I appreciate John's worship-lite approach, I still yearn for a return to the innovation and beauty of "Avalon" or "One World".

"I bought the CD but had to go back and buy the DVD. My friend's kids are into hip hop dance and even fell in love with the DVD. It was so cool to see them mesmerized by my music! Who'd of thought. Something for the whole family that's smart, savy, in good taste and still hip! There are some really incredible dancers on the DVD, too. I recommend this for anyone with Teens into any kind of dance."
