"I agree with the other 4 star review. This is a great old recording from back in the late '70's when John Starling was a ENT doctor in Montgomery, AL. My tape has worn out and I'm happy to see it re-released in CD form. I also recommend his Long Time Gone CD. Also go for the "Seldom Scene 15th Anniversary Celebration, live at Kennedy Center" CD. It also features Dr. John S., Emmylou, Ricky Skaggs, Linda Ronstadt and many others."
Where are the Starling fans?

"Was looking to see if there is anything new out by Mr. Starling and was surprised to see no reviews on his old stuff. This album is fantastic! A friend took me to see him (and Clare Lynch) in concert 10 years ago or so and I was hooked...bought the album at the show. Since then its been a real favorite. He has a great sensibility which contains elements of bluegrass and country, all rolled together with a "pre-alt" intelligence. Perhaps he's a guy who is "too experienced" for today, but this old album is a gem."
