"I am somewhat new in my walk with God. Music has always been a major part of my life (until a year ago, it was mostly just heavy metal music I listened to) and when I experienced a life changing event (being baptised in the name of Jesus Christ and being filled with the Holy Ghost), I wasn't sure what I would have a desire to listen to. I found many great Christian CDs and love to worship God with something playing in the background to help me enter into a deeper worship. Now, don't take this wrong. This CD of John Tesh's "Pure Hymns" is not merely background music. It is a terific statement of the power of worship music and John's personal gift of translating, writing, and performing. I am so happy I purchased this CD (my first but not the last of John's music). We have Home Friendship Group every week and often spend time just praying and worshipping. I am going to use this the next time we get together. It is sure to bring everyone closer to God as we worship and pray. I like listening to is during my own personal prayer and worship. I highly recommend this to everyone. Thank you Mr. Tesh. Your gift of music is truly God given."

"If you like Hymns, this will a be a CD you won't want to miss out on. John Tesh, musically enlightens your favorite hymns with his Piano touch. This is truly a Masterpiece because these hymns don't have to just be heard during church, you'll enjoy them anytime...anywhere."
Transcending To Relaxation

"I had heard of this most recent release by John Tesh but I had until this weekend purchased a copy of the CD. I have appreciated Mr. Tesh's music for several years and haven't run across one recording that I have disliked. "Pure Hymns" is awesome. I use music for pain control and relaxation. The selections in this CD and the way they are performed is very conducive to achieving relaxation. Not only are the hymns well known by Protestant and Catholic denominations alike, it somehow brings one closer to God as you listen to the various tracts. Mr. Tesh has succeeded in blending the various types of music into this spirt and faith renewing recording...from the soothing arrangements to the rendition of "How Great Thou Art" with 4Him to the jazzy sounding "Amazing Grace", to the joyous renditions of such classics as "Joyful, Joyful We Adore Thee" to "HolyHolyHoly".A must have for any instrumental music collection!"

"I can recall being awfully leery when I purchased my first John ("Entertainment Tonight!") Tesh album years ago. Boy, was I ever wrong about John! That album was "A Romantic Christmas" and to this day it is my favorite Christmas album of all time; it turned out to be an absolutely beautiful collection of seasonal music.Tesh is an absolute master musician and arranger, and I have yet to buy a Tesh album that I haven't greatly enjoyed. This particular album of religious music is especially welcome since these songs have special meaning for me (as a Christian), as they apparently did for John. I'm listening to "Holy, Holy, Holy" at this moment and wouldn't have believed how nice just the music alone could sound.Tesh has done a marvelous job here and this album is a joy to listen to. These arrangements breathe a kind of new life into tried-and-true hymns, and they have helped me to appreciate the melodies, though very familiar to me, more than I ever have before. I think anyone who has grown up with these hymns will enjoy (and be blessed by) this album. I certainly have been. Thank you, John."
