"It's hard to pick a favorite but "Always Back To You" is wonderful. I love Mr McDermotts music, this CD is better than "Love is a Voyage" and frankly I didn't think that was possible. This CD is full of the most wonderful songs I think I've ever heard. Mr McDermott not only has an amazing voice he also has an ability to select the perfect songs to display that voice. This has become my favorite CD. I listen to it in the car, at home, at work. I've had it for a couple of months and still listen to it every day. Everytime I think he can't get better he does."

"John McDermott has done it again. Another great CD. The songs on the CD are thought provoking. Got the CD about a month again and can't stop myself from playing it over and over. He has a way with a song. One thing about John's singing he enanciates every word. If you do not yet have this CD buy it now. You will love it."
Well worth the wait...

"John's fans have waited anxiously for his new cd and "A Day To Myself" doesn't disappoint. Departing from his usual mix of Scottish and Irish traditional songs, John give us a collection of songs from his heart. Highlights are the lovely "Song For The Mira", reflections on life in a small town in Nova Scotia; "Love Remembers When", a tender love song about a married couple coping with Alzheimer's, and the beautiful "Never Doubt I Love". John also includes "Caledonia", Dougie Maclean's ode to Scotland, and "Always Back To You", another of Eric Bogle's lyrical songs reworked to reflect John's feelings toward his adopted country, Canada. I can't say enough about this man's beautiful voice and in my opinion, there's no one out there that can compare. If you enjoy McDermott's music you will love "A Day To Myself"."
Simply the best!

"Whether he is singing traditional Celtic songs or more modern tunes (as on this CD), John McDermott has the most beautiful voice I have ever heard. He infuses each song on this CD with meaning and emotion, and gives especially good renditions of two Gordon Lightfoot favorites (Song for a Winter's Night and Home From the Forest). This is a must for any McDermott fan and anyone who loves good music."
