"When I first saw this CD in my local store, I thought, well, here's another compilation of songs I already have on a half-dozen other CDs. Au contraire! This is an excellent disc of material I had not heard. The low price is just another bonus that I haven't figured out. Recorded in the early 50's with second guitarist Eddie Kirkland (who is not credited), this is a great example of John Lee, who does not adhere to a strict twelve-bar format, being followed pretty well by a second guitar (who shares a lot of lead duties), bass, and drums. Buy it right away."

"I bought this album without ever hearing a single note in the late 1970's. I fell in love with John Lees' voice and musical atmosphere they brought to this recording. I tried to find other John Lee Hooker recordings that were simular in style, but to be totally frank, none can be found. I have alot of JLH greatest hits albums, but "Sittin' Here Thinking" is a JHL masterpice! This recording can become your best friend when you're lonely or just alone. Great guitar playing, great singing, not so great musicianship which makes this a great blues recording. Oh yes, my frist copy was stolen and I was never able to find it until I discovered it in CD form @ Amazon."
