"This was my very first Klemmer album (literally, a vinyl LP in 1983 or so). I found the saxophone playing so soulful and all encompasing. While some of his other work may be a little more fun and over-the-top - like the early ABC issued album with Klemmer, Tom Scott and Gato Barberi (spelling?) or his Fresh Feathers cross-over album (when are they going to re-issue that?)...and then he had his "new age" phase before new age was cool, like Touch, Barefoot Ballet, etc. - this album really showcases Klemmer's sheer saxophone playing. The sound is full, thick, beautiful and ingenious. The solos show both a mastery of technique while also giving you a unique window into Klemmer's soul that can only happen when he doesn't let the "head" of the song get in the way. (i.e. although I love alot of his work, the songs on this recording are not so unique as to share the stage with the pure talent of Klemmer). Listen to the samples on the page - if you like them, you'll love the album. This is also my "alltime" favorite studying/working CD out of hundreds....."
