Not Outstanding, but Significant Better digital remastering

"If you wonder why this CD is so expensive, it's because it's an import, and also out-of-print for awhile. But is it worth the money? The answer is mixed. If you want to experience or revisit this album as a unique listening experience (i.e. from the beginning to the end), get this copy because the digital remastering is probably the best you can get (comparing to the original 1974 "DYNAGROOVE" vinyl, the '80s Japanese and German CD pressings, and the 1997 US pressing). If you just want to listen to some of the more popular tracks from this album (like I'm Sorry, Fly Away, Looking for Space, etc.), you may turn to the 2 or 3 CD-set THE ESSENTIAL released in 2007/2008 by Sony/BMG under the Legacy label.
Windsong is my all-time favorite John Denver album, thus deserves more than 5 stars. It's also the most symphonic one, and was the joint-creation of two fantastic musicians: John Denver and Lee Holdridge. You know, a few of the John Denver's hits like Sunshine On My Shoulder, My Sweet Lady, My Old Guitar, were original recorded without any strings accompaniment. Lee Holdridge added the strings and/or orchestral arrangement later on. I think Holdridge's orchestral treatments of John Denver's songs really enhance John Denver's sunny disposition, and his love for the earth and universe as experienced by millions of his fans all over the world.
