Same quality although "Different Directions"

"Fans and also non-fans of J.D. will enjoy this album because the title indicates the musical contents. In addition to J.D's quality ballads, there are several up-tempo numbers which incorporate rock, gospel and latin musical motifs. Musical variety is evident in every track. Regardless of the musical attack, J.D's social values are still evident. The only drawback to this album is the lack of Denver's compositions. However, "Foxfire Suite", "Different Directions", and "Amazon" rank high in regards to his previous output. Also, John's band includes top flight musicians such as James Burton on guitar. Also, the import version of this C.D. has complete linear notes and lyrics."
One of John's Best

"I had a chance to interview John right after making this recording. He was so excited about some of the new directions his music was taking. I observed that he was most excited about the "Foxfire Suite" perhaps the best on the CD, and about a song for the environment called "Amazon." I would also recommend "The Flower That Shattered the Stone" Both are wonderfully produced collections of music. Too bad John is not around to share more of his magic with us today. He was truly a very special person, and a very talented entertainer. He must have been a natural around a campfire....just he and his guitar."
