Better than some of his previous work

"John has improved his song writing skills though his singing needs to be tamed a little. He sometimes tries to reach for notes that quickly start to sounds painful. I know this from personal experience as a former band member of one of his past projects (many as they are). Though I haven't kept ties with John, I can't deny that this CD is some of his best work yet even if it could use a little more of something. I regretfully even found myself learning the lyrics and singing along."
