Synopsis

Album Description
"John Adorney?s sound is at once joyous, uplifting, and vibrantly rhythmic." -NAPRA REVIEW "On the stunning follow-up to his debut multi-instrumentalist Adorney has created a delightful collage of songs ? Daya?s multi-dubbed vocals on the infectious title track ? are reminiscent of Enya?s breakthrough ?Orinoco Flow? ? a superb sophomore outing." -NEW AGE RETAILER "John is a very gifted artist; I love his sense of timing, melody and instrumentation. He is a genius at bringing notes to life and his new album, Trees of Gold, shines brightly with the spirit of adventure, beauty, and majesty." -DIANE ARKENSTONE "Entrancing lyrics and lush vocals by Daya add a new dimension to the enduring instrumental compositions John is loved for." -THE MORNING BREEZE, KSBR 88.5 EverSound proudly presents John Adorney?s fourth album, a highly anticipated benchmark to an extraordinary career with worldwide CD sales of over 200,000. Trees of Gold seamlessly follows 2004?s elegant and enchanting Waiting for the Moon and 2002?s The Other Shore, honored by the Coalition of New Age Retailers as the Best New Age CD of 2002. As on all of his releases, Adorney?s compositions are complemented by the luscious, layered textures of female vocalist Daya. The title track, as well as the beautiful "Yilowe," also feature African vocals by Marcel Adjibi.

CD Reviews

Great Compositions!

"John Adorney is a gifted composer. His new album, "Trees of Gold," is delightful and uplifting. "Swept Away" opens with promises of adventure, celebration, and joy for the entire recording. The title track, "Trees of Gold," is one of my favorite tracks on this album. John's vibrant instrumental is accompanied by the warm vocals of the talented Diane Arkenstone, along with the beautiful voice of Daya Rawat and an entire cast of some very skilled musicians. This song portrays great beauty, harmony and diversity reflected in music that is to be admired and enjoy! "Yilowe" is also a very beautiful song that consists of catchy melodic rhythms and features African vocals by Marcel Adjibi. The CD ends gracefully with "Man of the Red Earth"--leaving behind distant sounds of John's soothing melodies and Daya's heavenly vocals. "Trees of Gold" is a sensational album. I highly recommend it!"
A strong album.

"
After waiting a long time for this album to come out, I was not dissapointed. This is another album of Adorneys that grows on you. I have listened to it now going on a dozen times, and like his other albums, the music gets better with age.

One song in particular is to me, worth buying the album. The first song "Swept Away" is wonderful! I would rate it a 5 star song. After that there are maybe 3-4 4 stars and the rest 3 stars. This album reminds me of the Yanni "Ethnicity" album.

It has an African sound to it, with a good deal of "chanting"?Wailing? Im not sure. If you like that sound then good for you.

It gets old fast. But your only talking 1 or 2 songs. Out of all of his albums, there are maybe 8 songs that I skip through.

The rest are just wonderful."
IMHO not Adorney's best

"I truly love John Adorney's music, as you will see from my other reviews, and his first three albums are among my most treasured CDs. However, for some reason, this one, albeit full of innovation and variety, did not thrill me or fill me with the rapture that his previous works did. I have listened with great enjoyment to the first three albums countless times, but I could only make it through this one a few times. Obviously, from the other reviews of this album, this is only a very personal (and probably erroneous) take on my part. I'm sure that Adorney's next album will thoroughly seduce me back into his magical spell.
