"In a true and just world, Joe Grushecky and the Houserockers would be be major stars in the rock n roll universe, selling millions of records and playing to sold out stadiums. Instead, they play small venues, release critically acclaimed records to little or no fanfare, and walk down any street in America completely unnoticed. All they do is make great rock music. This live CD is a complete package- Grushecky's mature songwriting, great music, tight arrangements, an appearance by Bruce Springsteen, and an audience that appreciates the Houserockers and pushes their performance to even greater heights. Highlights include "Dance With Me", "Everything's Going to Work Out Right", and two old Iron City Houserocker classics, "Blood On The Bricks" and "Pumping Iron". But every song contributes to the performance. There's no filler on this disc; in fact, the only complaint I have is that they didn't include enough songs to make it a two disc CD. Grushecky says on one track, "Everything's gonna work out right. You just got to keep the faith." Keep preaching the rock n roll faith, Joe. I'm a believer."

"I was in Madrid about two years ago , in a bar called Chesterfield Cafe and a bunch of guys came to the stage and began to play , they were Joe Grushecky and the houserockers , i never heard about them before that gig , and i blame on me cause it was one of the best concerts i've ever been , next days i buyed the down the road apiece - live and it became one of my favourite records , i'm just waiting for another spanish tour to see them alive again , if you like pure rock you must have a record from this men , they are just great."
Down The Road, Down The Road, Down The Road Apeice!

"The first time I saw Joe Grushecky and The Iron City Houserockers was 1978. I've probably seen the Houserockers about 50 times. When the Houserockers broke up and Joe went solo I probably saw him another 50 times. Finally, an album that truly shows Joe Grushecky at his best. The title song with the duet with Bruce Springsteen rocks. "Pumping Iron" has such a Stones feel that it sounds like Keith is playing rhythm. What a groove. Other highlights, "Dance with Me", with Mark Reisman an ex-Iron City Houserocker on Harp and "Blood on the Bricks" are excellent. The cuts off the "Coming Home album are also good. "No Strings Attached" is a little more rocked out here and starts the album off well. This is an excellent live album. Too bad its not a double CD."
Great album

"Not QUITE as great as some of the reviews have indicated - the sound quality is not the best - but still pretty good. Gets better as it goes along - the best tracks are near the end."

"Live-Down the Road Apiece is an example of Rock'n'Roll as it is meant to be! This CD has it all! Great rhythm, fantastic lyrics and some of the best guitar playing you'll ever find on CD. This CD captures Joe Grushecky and the Houserockers doing what they do best, playing hard-driving Rock'n'Roll! Talking To The King is probably the greatest song ever written about Elvis, and the live version here just blows you away! Pumping Iron is another Houserocker classic on this CD that has to be heard, words alone can't convey the intensity of it on this CD.If you like Joe Grushecky, you'll love this CD. If you haven't heard of him, after buying this CD you'll be one of his growing legion of fans. This CD is for any fan who loves great Rock Music! It captures Joe Grushecky and the Houserockers doing what they do best, playing great Rock'n'Roll. You won't be disappointed with this CD."
