"Most of the songs on "Organic" have been recorded previously by Cocker, but in almost every case he improves upon the original. He even adds a new verse to "You Are So Beautiful". The arrangements are stripped down and emphasize acoustic intruments, so the overall effect is like an "unplugged" album, although instead of a rough "live" sound this is a very well-produced, polished album. There are also a few selections that, as far as I know, have not previously been recorded by Cocker, such as "High Lonesome Blue" or Van Morrison's "Into The Mystic". The highlight is "Can't Find My Way Home", but the fact is, almost every song here would be a highlight on most of his other albums. This is my favorite Joe Cocker album, and if you already have many of these songs in your collection from other albums, please don't let that deter you, you'll really like what he does with those old favorites here."
Can he or can't he sing?

"I don't think Joe Cocker is a very good singer personally, but he picks great material, good bands and extremely good back-up singers. I thought this album was one of his best. Top notch is the song 'Into The Mystic' and for a bit of comedy, listen to one of his many verions of 'You Can Put Your Hat On'."
Definitely 5 Stars

"Joe's intrepretation of these classics is great and there's a nice mix of songs. The stripped down arrangments are just terrific with Randy Neuman and Billy Preston, among others, supplying some electrifying music to compliment Joe'e voice. This offering has the intimate feel of a live concert."
