Synopsis
Amazon.com Enriquez comes late in the freestyle game, but her album and singles point to directions the music might head for survival. (One sure strategy is the proliferation of the ballads included here.) The original freestyle beats have been altered, and the gap between these dance cuts and the dance-pop, hip-hop, and R&B recordings they are played next to on the radio is getting narrower all the time. "Do You Miss Me" is a jukebox revelation as well as a dance floor hit; such a perfect mix of traditional pop songwriting and floor-filling beats is sadly rare. A jeepy cover of Yaz's "Only You" gives more mileage to a song that won't die, but Enriquez really pushes the envelope on the ballad "Kailanman," which is performed in her native language, Tagalog. --John Sanchez Similarly Requested CDs

CD ReviewsAmazing!!! A. Landre | Lake Stevens, WA United States | 05/23/2003 (5 out of 5 stars) "I live in Seattle and C-89.5 is still one of my favorite radio stations I first heard the song "Do you miss me" I instantly liked it......I couldn't get it out of my head. I came to the Amazon website to check out the reviews and after hearing a few more clips I went ahead and purchased it. Ever since I received it I have been listening to it over and over it is a REALLY, REALLY great CD. A nice mix of dance music mixed in with some really pretty ballads. Jocelyn's voice is so versatile......I am so glad that I made this purchase! You will not be disappointed." A Great CD A. Landre | 08/08/1998 (5 out of 5 stars) "As well as the bass-thumping songs that are practically forcing you to get onto the dance floor, this CD also has many touching ballads. Jocelyn Enriquez has an amazing voice, and the songs on the album show the listener this fact. My personal favorite is the song "Kailanman", a love song in Tagalog, the national language from the Philippines. By recording this song, she shows her pride in her country and this will give her a tremendous following with the Filipino-American community, as well the mainstream American crowd (hopefully). But regardless of that, the entire album is just a refreshing blend of love songs and hard-core dance beats, which makes it an asset to have."
