"In this live concert from La Plaza de Toros Nuevo Progreso in Guadalajara, Joan sings many of his most loved songs, as well as having a lot of interaction with the audience.
Though his voice has developed some rough edges with age, this is a man who knows how to sing and interpret his wonderful melodies like few others can.Highlights for me are "Veinticinco Rosas", "El Toro", which poetically uses a bullfight analogy on how to deal with problems, and his biggest hit to date, the multi-award winning "Secreto de Amor".
There is also a clever song about the joys of being 50 years of age ("a los cincuenta...ya sabemos como, y todavia podemos").He's accompanied by a band led by Enrique Martinez, and in the final 3 "encore" songs, by the Mariachi Aguilas de America.
The booklet insert does not have lyrics, but is full of photos, and a P.R. version of Joan's life (just the pleasant stuff).
Total time is 54'25, and the sound is good...one can hear the audience, but it's well balanced, and not intrusive. This is an excellent CD for fans of Joan, who like me, have never had the opportunity to hear and see him in concert...for those new to this singer/songwriter, I'd recommend his "Secreto de Amor" CD."
