Raw, Right and Beautiful

"My God, What a voice! What a talent! Her guitar playing is flawlessly raw and captivating. She plays some of the very best bottleneck and slide I've heard, country blues...you know, the old stuff; the raw, real deal.
It's amazing that those with the real talent: Bloomfield, Hendrix, Joplin, and Kelly among so many others, die so young.
If you like country blues, I mean real stuff...BUY THIS CD."
Brilliant Music-Less Than Stellar Mastering

"I'm new to the genius of the late Jo-Ann Kelly. I first heard her on Stefan Grossman's "How to Play Blues Guitar." She has a voice that sounds like it has endured the history of the world. I was shocked to learn that it belonged to a then 22 year old from the UK. This record is her solo debut of a few years later. Raw country blues. Very naturalistic; not contrived in any way. However, there are all sorts of digital artifacts throughout this CD reissue. So many, in fact, that for me it detracts from my enjoyment and appreciation of the music. Did anyone at BGO actually listen during the mastering session? Really a shoddy job which is too bad because Jo-Ann Kelly was the real deal. The music is 5 stars but the mastering is 1 star thus my 3 star rating. Someone should do a proper release of this."
