"This was an amazing LP album in the '70s and finally it is available on CD. Jimmy Webb's talent was never properly appreciated--he performed and wrote songs I can never forget. You will not regret buying this CD. every song is excellent! Try it, you'll like it."

"These songs are blazed on my brain and in my heart from the time I was 15. It is a joy to FINALLY see that this album and "Words and Music" have been issued in CD's, in tact, as I remember every note, pause, and lyric. Jimmy's "Galveston" is gorgeous and sung the way it should be sung. He re-recorded it later, but this is the first and most haunting version. "Song-Seller" and "Love Song" (on Words and Music) were always favorites. I would own "Letters" just for Jimmy's version of "Love Hurts". "Camp de Encino" will always bring back memories of my first trip to California..and I don't want to recount how many times in my life "Hurt Me Well" came back into my memory. Jimmy's songs were always among the most beautiful love songs ever written. Another reason we were a lucky generation."
Wonderful classic long past time for it to have been release

"So much good music on one CD. This is the first "Galveston" and the best. "Love Hurts", "Hurt Me Well", "Campo Del Encino" are all classic Webb. Is it at his best? I'm really hoping the best is yet to come. Really wish this had been re-mastered, but the sound is still very good on this CD."
A little known classic

"Letters has long been my favorite Jimmy Webb album. I listened to it hundreds of times and never quite gotten over it. If you purchase it for nothing other than the haunting version of Galveston, it will be worth it. But the fact is, the whole album is really great.
Ten Easy Pieces is probably the place to start for newcomers to Jimmy Webb's recordings. Letters would be a good choice for your second purchase."
