Synopsis
Album Description A multi-talented musician and producer, Reid helmed most of the project himself and played the sax and keyboards and programmed the drums throughout. Notable exceptions include the funky, thumping and mystical "Cool Vibe," produced by Brian Culbertson; "The Song With No Name," a ten minute, jamming testament to Reid?s camaraderie with his regular bandmates; and the lush closing track "One Last Cry," a cover of the Brian McKnight classic featuring the beautiful piano of Zachary Provost (currently Musical Director for Josh Groban). Other key tracks include the sensuous "Stay The Night" (featuring live strings), the silky and reflective "My Everything", the retro-soul driven "From a Friend" and the seductive, vocally driven "Because of You" and "Stay Together." CD ReviewsCool and Funky, Smooth and Jazzy 08/06/2002 (5 out of 5 stars) "Dave Koz said it best about Jimmy Reid. He said "Jimmy's one of those rare talents that's got it all." This CD has got it all. From the India Arie flavored first track INDIA, to the seductive STAY THE NIGHT, to the bluesy 10 minute long THE SONG WITH NO NAME, this young kid from LA can hang in there horn to horn with his jazz contemporaries. From beginning to end, this CD is a soulful and enjoyable journey that is a pleasure to listen to." Fantastic artist!!! Virginia L.
