Jim Reeves was a master of vocal control. He never reached for notes and kept songs safely in his range, the lower the better. This is his religious album and while his voice has always been best suited for tossing off romantic paeans, he sings a strong gospel number for God, too. This CD was originally released as two separate albums, but listening through the 20 tracks, it's seamless. His country-pop sound, orchestrated with strings, is the perfect vehicle for these spirituals. "Take My Hand, Precious Lord," and "In the Garden" benefit from the lush production. --Rob O'Connor

"I have not listened to every song on this CD, but it looks to be well worth it, whatever the price because of the Title Track..."Whispering Hope". That is probably the most inspirational song I have ever heard. Jim Reeves sang it really well. In my opinion you should buy this CD. I'm going to."
