About Thunder Moon: Thunder Moon is the Sixth CD from songwriter Jim Lampos, and the final disc of an acoustic Trilogy that also includes Rye (2001) and Cosmogram (2004). It expands on many of the themes of his previous two cd?s. Where Cosmogram was about Place, Thunder Moon is about Time. All of the songs on Thunder Moon describe events occurring on the night of the Full Thunder Moon in July. But each contains a diufferent set of characters and events in a different place and time. The only common thread is the influence of the Thunder Moon. There are tales of lovers, thugs, politicians, scoundrels and heroes of every stripe. Some are poignant, hopeful and romantic, while others evoke grittier realities. One is aware of how times change, and how time itself remains constant. Of how the perception of a place may remain steady throughout the centuries, though the physical landscape may change so dramatically as to be unrecognizable to those who were born there even a few decades ago. Like Rye and Cosmogram, Thunder Moon is an intensely personal, introspective, direct set of songs, with a subtle political theme centred on the betrayal of the American ideal.
