Hall's fluid, melodic guitar playing is the star of this Rudy Van Gelder-engineered record. Jim Hall is a master of improvisation who values minimalism over flurries of notes. The rich, warm tone of his guitar will flood your senses with musicality. The centerpiece of this recording is Hall's interpretation of Rodrigo's "Concierto de Aranjuez", which contains what many consider to be Chet Baker's most lyrical, emotional playing."
