Premier guitarist/vocalist Jim Barbaro takes you on another world journey... On his third and latest solo offering, former Magnetics lead vocalist and guitarist paints a timeless canvas of acoustic flavored rock music with influences from around the world and through the ages. Each vignette, or sketch, is a musical chapter that fuses rock, classical, western, jazz, and folk. Whatever the style, the underlying mood is passionate and romantic with the melodic songcraft of Jim and co-producer George Gesner. Jim and his friends use a palette of Spanish guitar, violin, cello, dobros, trumpet, Hawaiian guitar, pedal steel, as well as traditional rock and folk instrumentation. It all gets topped off and woven together by Jim Barbaro's dynamic, full-throated vocals that range from deep and soulful to rough ?n' gritty to satiny smooth. The CD is housed in a beautiful, eco friendly non-jewel-box package and includes a 16-page sketchbook with impressionist and whimsical line drawings and a full set of lyrics.
